Pawsitive Vibes: Puppy Yoga

with Rilo’s Rescue at Balance Yoga

June 8th - 4:00pm

at Balance Yoga; 3055 East Fairview Avenue, Meridian, Idaho 83642, United States **THE FRONT DOOR IS IN THE BACK OF BUILDING (Behind Cycle Gear)

We are so excited to be partnering with Rilo's rescue - another local Boise Nonprofit that works to provide shelter, care, and rehoming services for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals - to bring you another round of Puppy Yoga!! Puppy yoga is, by far, the most joyous event around. Snuggle with pups, stretch your body, and leaving with a giant smile on your face.

Rilo's is getting a litter of pups and they all need homes! All of the puppies at this event are up for adoption! There will be a mixture of breeds, all 100% good boys and girls. No yoga experience is needed. All are welcome to join. Children are welcome, as long as accompanied by an adult and old enough to stay on their mats and treat the pups with love and kindness.

Classes are a sliding scale, $35-50 donation. Please also consider bringing dog food, toys, or supplies to donate to Rilo's Rescue's foster families. **Please note: There is a formal application process required to adopt the pups.

Thrive: Community Wellness Festival!

Saturday, September 27th from 10-4pm at JUMP

Upward Inertia is so excited to be hosting our second annual Thrive: Community Wellness Festival. This FREE one day festival will highlight the best that the Treasure Valley has to offer in terms of health and wellness education and experiences. From invigorating yoga classes, to intense workouts, workshops on the arts, financial literacy, mindfulness, nutrition, and self care, and vendors sharing their knowledge and skills - this day will be jam packed great information and great people.

There will be options for everyone, regardless of age or physical abilities. We will have a kids corner, community meetups, and more.

And best off, the event is FREE to the public. Donations are accepted, and any profits from the event support Upward Inertia’s community outreach programming.

Instructor applications are live!

We are looking for classes that address all 8 areas of wellness emotional, physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, financial, occupational and environmental. Additionally, we’re aiming to have a whole area dedicated to kids’ and family classes.

If you have something that you’d like to offer, please don’t hesitate to fill out the application. We can’t wait to have you on the team.

Instructor applications are due by May 31st. Applicants will receive a decision no later than June 15th.

Vendor applications are open.

We welcome all vendors working within or tangential to the health and wellness realm. Last year our vendors ranged from mental health providers and functional medicine practitioners, to skin care lines, cosmetic brands, massage therapists and chiropractors, and local gyms.

Upward Inertia’s Trauma Informed, Advanced Instructor Training!

Do you want to improve your teaching practice, learn to teach through a trauma informed lens, and understand the why behind all that we do? Our 30 hour advanced instructor training will be open to all current 200hr+ trained teachers and/or mental health providers. Graduates of this program will be invited to teach for Upward Inertia; those who choose to do so will be provided an additional 10 hours of training, free of cost.

When: October 11, 12, 25, and 26 at Authentic Yoga, State Street Location

Bonus weekend November 8 and 9 for those wishing to teach for Upward Inertia

Cost: $900; $750 for graduates of Zen Riot, Balance Yoga, Authentic Yoga, and True North Yoga’s teacher training programs or current instructors at these studios. Scholarships will be available.
